Mike Villines was elected to the California State Legislature in 2004 and served for six-years. Mike served as Minority Leader in the State Assembly and as one of the “Big 5” (four Legislative Leaders and Governor Schwarzenegger) to negotiate significant policy issues for all of California. Mike has given Keynote speeches and lectured on leadership, budget/economics, faith, government and accountability Internationally in South Africa and Brazil and at some of America’s greatest forums, including at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, “The Rotunda” at the University of Virginia, The International Council for Higher Education, The Emerging Leaders Program for the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and at universities and business forums.

Mike has spoken to a broad group of organizations nationally and in California including the State Government Affairs Council, the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution and the California and Nevada Credit Union League. Mike, along with three of his Bi-Partisan colleagues, was the 2010 recipient of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, America’s most prestigious honor for an elected public servant. The Award is on permanent display in the California State Capitol.
